Household inventory insurance forms part of the insurance of objects. It covers household claims resulting from fire, water damage, theft or glass breakage. The cover and premiums vary from canton to canton. The insurance normally covers damage caused by fire, lightning and exlosions as well as natural damage.

  • Building Insurance
Insurance of buildings covers damages caused to the building and to construction materials by fire, water and glass breakage. Fixed interior fittings such as wall cupboards, ovens, cookers, baths, window blinds, and so on are also covered by this insurance.
The insurance of buildings for damages caused by fire is mandatory in most cantons.

  • Cantonal Building and Household fire and natural damages Insurance Service

Buildings and Household must (where there is obligation) or may (where there is choice) be insured through a cantonal insurance institution for fire and natural damages. Unlike private insurers, it has no external publicity service.
