Family insurance Explanation

Private third-party insurance:

Every school, and Land lord requires this insurance.

Private third-party insurance protects an insured person against any claims that might be made against him through legal measures in the matter of third-party liability. The insured person is covered as a private person, head of a household, dog owner, tenant of a flat, soldier, sportsman and so on. Excluded are damages caused by the insured person as the driver or user of a motor vehicle or in the context of some occupational activity.

Household inventory insurance:

Household inventory insurance forms part of the insurance of objects. It covers household claims resulting from fire, water damage, theft or glass breakage.

Household objects consist of all movable goods for private use in a household but which form neither part of the fabric of the building nor its interior fittings or fixtures. A household inventory includes furniture, clothes, guest’ personal effects, sports equipment, etc.

Replacement Value as new:

If an insurance policy is issued using the value as new principle then, in the event of a claim, cover would be based on current market prices. Household inventory insurance is usually based on the value as new principle so that if objects are added to it, the insured amount needs to be modified.
With some types of insurance, the insured amount is linked to changes in certain indexes and is automatically increased from time to time, like the household:

The third-party, is only with todays value, the coverage deducted the depression of the years.

Valuable insurance:

The insurance of valuables fits into the insurance of objects category. It covers damage caused to jewellery, furs, paintings, musical instruments and other personal objects of value as a result of theft, fire and water. In addition to ordinary risks, damaging, destruction, disappearance and loss are also usually covered.

Building insurance:

Insurance of buildings covers damages caused to the building and to construction materials by fire, water and glass breakage. Fixed interior fittings such as wall cupboards, ovens, cookers, baths, window blinds, and so on are also covered by this insurance. The insurance of buildings for damages caused by fire is mandatory in most cantons.
The cover and premuims vary from canton to canton. The insurance normally covers damage caused by fire, lightning and explosions as well as natural damage.

Underinsurance:

Underinsurance occurs if the sum insured is lower than the value of the insured object at the time of the damage (replacement value). The insurer can reduce the benefits provided in the event of partial damage in accordance with the proportional rule (relationship of the sum insured to the replacement value). For total insurance

Excess:

Some insurance companies make insured persons bear part of the damages resulting from an insured event, either in the form of a percentage or of a fixed sum. Excesses avoid insurance companies from being inundated with minor claims. Cost participation is a synonym for excess.

Indirect Amortization

Method used to amortize a mortgage. Instead of direct amortization by means of direct periodical payments, a savings/risk insurance contract is created with a view to repaying the mortgage in a single payment on maturity of the contract, that is to say when the capital sum due at term is paid. From the tax point of view, the advantages and disadvantages of this method are debatable.
